Your information, in plain words
Who can see what I tell Front Door?
You can. Each agency sees only the answers and documents for its own program, and only after you agree on the review screen. A record of every time your vault is used is on your Vault page.
Our staff can open your information only to help you when you ask, and each time is logged. The service that writes answers works with placeholders, not your Social Security number, ID numbers, or bank numbers, and it turns away a typed message that still has one. A photo of a letter is read as you send it, so cover those numbers before you add one.
Does Front Door share with immigration agencies?
No. We do not share information with immigration enforcement. If we ever receive a legal demand, we will challenge it where we can and tell you unless the law forbids it.
Applying for some programs can matter for some immigration cases, and many programs do not count at all. Before you apply, you can talk to someone free and confidential: Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network, 1-844-724-3737.
You can apply only for your children or other family members and leave yourself off. Questions about immigration status are always optional on Front Door; agencies may ask for the person applying.
Health information
Some answers are health information under Washington law: pregnancy, disability, and health coverage. We collect them only when you choose to answer, use them only to check programs and fill applications you ask for, and share them only with the programs you pick. You can delete them at any time. This is our consumer health data policy.
What does the conversation keep?
So it can follow a conversation, Front Door keeps what you type with the service that writes answers. If you are not signed in, it is not tied to your name. This browser tab keeps the conversation until you press Start over or close the tab. Please do not type real names, numbers, or addresses in this demo.
We do not put your questions in the web address, so they do not end up in your browser history. If someone may be watching your device, use a private browsing window.
Can I delete everything?
Yes. Deleting removes your answers, vault values, documents, mail, tasks, and plan from Front Door. Applications you already sent stay with the agency that received them, because they are now that agency’s records.
Front Door is an independent demo, not a state website. These are the commitments the service is designed around; a production service would publish a reviewed policy and data agreements with each agency.
